Dedicated Volunteers on ISCA Committees
The members of the ISCA Committees are central to the effective functioning of ISCA, and the Institute has benefited greatly from the efforts of dedicated members who volunteer both their time and commitment to serve the accountancy profession. A member’s greatest contribution will be his/her active participation in meetings and in working groups. Appointment as a Committee member is a significant responsibility. In accepting such appointment, the individual assumes the duties and responsibilities of active involvement, specifically:
Acting in the public interest and in the common interest of the accountancy profession;
Acting as an ambassador for ISCA in explaining and promoting the work of ISCA; and
Attending, preparing for, and actively participating in all meetings.
Call for Nominations
Nominees or nominating organisations have to submit their curriculum vitaes, biographical information and other professional data.
Required Qualities and Professional Experience
Please refer to the TOR of the respective ISCA Committee on the ISCA website for the required qualities of the nominees. Please note that some ISCA Committees may provide more details of the specific qualities and professional experience that they are looking for in the nominees in a separate Appendix to their respective TOR.
The ISCA Nominations Committee will consider the qualifications and experience of each nominee keeping in mind the needs of the relevant ISCA Committee and the impact the nominee will have on its composition.
The ISCA Nominations Committee will review the nominations to determine the best nominee for the position. ISCA is committed to maintaining the highest standards of the work of our ISCA Committees. The principle of the “best candidate for the job” is the overriding consideration.
Nominees to our ISCA Committees must have an adequate level of knowledge about the relevant subject matter/industry/topic, although they need not necessarily have a professional accountancy designation.
The ISCA Nominations Committee may consult the relevant ISCA Committee Chairman, the ISCA Council and relevant stakeholders, as appropriate, regarding its proposed nominations. Should it be necessary, the ISCA Nominations Committee will seek additional nominations by further consulting with the various groups, until such time as it feels it has obtained a sufficient number of qualified nominees.
The ISCA Nominations Committee will present its recommendations on the composition of the respective ISCA Committees to the ISCA Council.
Following the ISCA Council’s approval, ISCA will advise the shortlisted nominee or the nominee’s nominating organisation of the nominee’s inclusion in the composition of the relevant ISCA Committee.
Membership Term, Time and Financial Requirements
ISCA Committee members shall be appointed for a term of up to two years. After the initial term of up to two years, ISCA Committee members may be re-appointed provided that no member serves for more than six years continuously.
Former ISCA Committee members will be eligible for nomination to the same ISCA Committee after a period of two years after leaving the said ISCA Committee.
To be eligible for re-appointment, ISCA Committee members must attend more than 50% of the meetings held during the term.
Costs for attendance at ISCA Committee meetings are borne by the member or the member’s nominating organisation. If a member wishes to bring a technical advisor to any meeting, these costs are also borne by the member or the member’s nominating organisation.

Nominees or nominating organisations are requested to provide a cover note to support their nomination and to include details of the nominee in the curriculum vitae template.
