ISCA CEO, Mr Lee Fook Chiew, was quoted in The Business Times on the question of "Will Singapore's almost-S$60 billion response to Covid-19 help businesses tide over the crisis? What else might be needed to save jobs and livelihoods?" This is what he has to share:

The government has acted swiftly with the two Supplementary Budgets and rendered significant financial support to businesses and individuals to help them tide over this challenging period when businesses are disrupted and jobs are at risk. The support measures are bold and address the pain points directly, and we believe they will go a long way towards alleviating the difficulties faced by both businesses and households.

To help those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic navigate the wide array of assistance schemes and resources, ISCA has produced the Covid-19 Navigator, a guide that directs individuals and businesses to relevant resources from the government and ISCA, at a glance.

Having said that, to save lives and livelihoods, a change in mindset is equally critical. We must all take the circuit-breaker measures seriously so that life in Singapore can return to normalcy as soon as possible.

- Lee Fook Chiew, Chief Executive Officer, Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA)
