ISCA Issues EP 100 IG 2 (Revised 2025) Frequently Asked Questions on Key Audit Partners

EP 100 establishes ethical requirements for members of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) and is modelled after the International Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants issued by the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA).

EP 100 IG 2 Frequently Asked Questions on Key Audit Partners was first issued in March 2018 to clarify on the definition and identification of key audit partners (KAPs) in EP 100.

EP 100 IG 2 (Revised 2025) has been updated and expanded to also provide clarification on the rotation rules for KAPs in EP 100 (revised on 20 March 2025). 9 new frequently asked questions (FAQs) have been added to provide guidance on the application of rotation rules in the following areas:

  • Engagement manager becoming a KAP.
  • Engagement partner (EP) on audits of companies listed on the Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX).
  • EP of an audit client that becomes a public interest entity (PIE) after successful listing on the SGX.
  • Service in a combination of KAP roles i.e., as EP, engagement quality reviewer (EQR) or other KAP roles.
  • Time-on and cooling off period for an EQR of a PIE audit client.
