Strategy Discussion Paper for Strengthening Small and Medium-Sized Accounting Practices

The Strengthening SMP Taskforce, comprising ISCA Council members and experts in business, strategy, and technology, was established to study, discuss, and advance strategic initiatives to rejuvenate and transform the Small and Medium-Sized Accounting Practices (SMP) sector.

This Strategy Discussion Paper consolidates insights gathered from focus group engagements with key stakeholders, including:

  • Students from local Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs)
  • SMP owners and employees
  • The ISCA Public Accounting Practice Committee
  • The ISCA CFO Committee, representing users of professional services
The paper sets out key strategic thrusts and recommendations to serve as the foundation for engaging the SMP community in charting a collective path forward to elevate competitiveness, strengthen capabilities, and empower progressive SMPs to position themselves as valued contributors to the broader business ecosystem.
