What is the Polytechnic Pathway Programme (PPP)? 

The Polytechnic Pathway Programme (PPP) was launched to support full-time polytechnic graduates from local polytechnics who aspire to become qualified accountants. It enables diploma holders from all disciplines to join the Singapore CA Qualification (SCAQ).

Benefits

What are the Benefits of the PPP?

Under the PPP, ISCA provides support in the following ways:

    • Waiver of Candidate application fees
    • Waiver of Foundation Programme module exemption fees (up to 2 modules for accountancy diploma holders)
    • Waiver of Foundation Programme exam module enrolment fees
    • Waiver of Annual candidature fees
Additionally, *complimentary revision classes will be provided for Foundation Programme modules

How long are the benefits available for PPP Candidates?

The benefits are available for diploma holders for a period of two years from their date of polytechnic graduation. This allows Candidates who proceed to university, National Service, or the workforce to utilise the PPP.

Can PPP benefits be extended beyond the pilot phase?

The PPP is currently a two-year pilot programme for 2025 and 2026. ISCA will evaluate its effectiveness before deciding on its extension.

Eligibility

The PPP is eligible for full-time pre-employment training (PET) polytechnic diploma holders from:

  • Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP)
  • Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP)
  • Republic Polytechnic (RP)
  • Singapore Polytechnic (SP)
  • Temasek Polytechnic (TP)

Polytechnic diploma holders who graduated from January 2024 onwards are eligible to apply. The programme will be piloted for 2025 and 2026, during which polytechnic students must sign up as ISCA Student Members to be eligible for sponsorship after graduation.

Can students from non-accountancy diploma programmes join the PPP?

Yes. Diploma holders from non-accountancy programmes may apply, provided they meet the entry requirements for the Foundation Programme under the SCAQ.

Are there any eligibility restrictions based on nationality or residency?

There are no restrictions based on nationality or residency for this initiative. However, applicants must meet the eligibility criteria stated above.

Exemptions

What exemptions are granted to accountancy diploma holders under the PPP?

Accountancy diploma holders from local polytechnics are eligible for exemptions from two Foundation modules:

    • Principles of Financial Reporting (PFF)
    • Singapore Taxation (TXF)

These exemptions reduce the total number of modules required to complete the SCAQ.

How do I apply for the PPP?

Polytechnic students can sign up as ISCA Student Members to gain early access to learning resources. After graduation, they can apply for the PPP through the SCAQ website (https://scaq.isca.org.sg).

The following supporting documents are required:

    • Latest academic transcript.
    • A valid identification document (e.g., NRIC, FIN, or Passport)
    • Certification of polytechnic graduation
Enrolment for the SCAQ exams is available for PPP Candidates starting their final year.

Yes, Candidates who defer their exams can access the PPP benefits, provided they remain within the eligibility period.

No, resit fees are not covered under the PPP. Candidates are responsible for these fees if applicable.

No, fees incurred before joining the PPP are not refundable.

Diploma holders, including those with exemptions, can complete the SCAQ in approximately 3.5 to 4 years, depending on their progression.

Polytechnic students can sign up as ISCA Student Members during their studies to gain early access to learning resources and familiarise themselves with the SCAQ structure.

Candidates must fulfil attendance requirements for the *complimentary revision classes and adhere to the programme’s guidelines. Non-compliance may affect their eligibility for future benefits.

The PPP is exclusively for new applicants who join the SCAQ after graduating from a local polytechnic from January 2024 onwards. If you meet the criteria under PPP and have already signed up for the SCAQ, you may write in to us at scaq@isca.org.sg to apply for the PPP. 

In addition to *complimentary revision classes, PPP Candidates can access ISCA’s learning resources, including study guides, past year exam papers and learning videos designed to support their SCAQ journey.
