How can profit and purpose be strategically aligned in Singapore’s competitive business environment?
10 Jul 2018
Mrs Lim Hwee Hua, Chairman, ISCA Cares, was quoted in The Business Times on the question of "How can profit and purpose be strategically aligned in Singapore’s competitive business environment?" This is what she has to share:
Purpose drives profit. When everyone in the organisation buys into its purpose, this sense of purpose can often be a driver for profit. Within the accountancy profession, ISCA Cares, the charity arm of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), has been galvanising the profession to build a caring accountancy community and give back to society. Through ISCA Cares, we help support needy students in furthering their studies in accountancy. This support goes beyond monetary giving. Many accounting professionals and business leaders, including myself, are personally mentors to these beneficiaries. This helps build the accountancy talent pipeline and in the long run contributes to a skilled workforce, which is fundamental to any vibrant economy. - Lim Hwee Hua, Chairman, ISCA Cares
