What are, for you, the biggest takeaways from the 2016 National Day Rally?
30 Aug 2016
ISCA CEO, Mr Lee Fook Chiew, was quoted in The Business Times on the question of "What are, for you, the biggest takeaways from the 2016 National Day Rally? " This is what he has to share:
With technology disruption and globalisation, industries, professions and even entire economies need to think critically about the future and embrace change. Accountancy, as one of the oldest professions, has survived centuries because of its ability to successfully adapt to and embrace changes. As the accountancy profession prepares for the new economy, lifelong learning is important for the profession to stay relevant as the new economy evolves. The accountancy profession should expand and develop cross-disciplinary knowledge in areas like technology, human resource, psychology, marketing and legal. This would help to expand the possible pathways that accountants can venture into, thus broadening career opportunities. - Lee Fook Chiew, Chief Executive Officer, Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA)
