Accounting Excellence: The Purpose Behind it All
ISCA interviewed Mr Yee Cheok Hong, Executive Director (Policy & Strategic Planning/Industry Development) of ISCA, to bring you insights into the motivation behind the Singapore Accountancy Awards 2014.
1) Why is ISCA organising the Singapore Accountancy Awards?
The Singapore Accountancy Awards is organised to recognise business and individual excellence, promote good practices, and strengthen the branding of the profession and industry.
The Business Excellence Awards aim to recognise accounting firms that stand out for their dedication to building a distinguished practice. These firms would have demonstrated leadership in pursuing technical excellence, people development, and productivity and innovation. The Individual Excellence Awards on the other hand, aim to recognise accountants who embody strong professional qualities, possess sound technical knowledge and experience, and actively contribute to the development of the practice, industry and community.
As we continue to strengthen Singapore’s position as a hub for accountancy, these awards will spur firms and individuals to excel in their respective arenas while contributing to the overall industry growth.
