The plan to transform Singapore into a global accountancy hub is rapidly gaining ground with the announcement of the composition of the pro-tem Singapore Accountancy Council. In order for this vision to materialise, it is crucial that stakeholders like you and me have a keen understanding of the dynamic future of the sector.
Bearing the theme of “A Profession on the Move”, the Singapore Accountancy Convention will empower you with in-depth understanding of key issues and global trends facing the accountancy sector and highlight the skills and traits a 21st century accounting professional must possess. In line with ICPAS’ AIM (Accountancy excellence, Industry growth and Member and human capital development) strategic plan, the Singapore Accountancy Convention is also a platform to discuss the opportunities and challenges for the profession as Singapore transforms into a global accountancy hub.
This thought leadership initiative by ICPAS brings together a distinguished line-up of prominent international thinkers, industry experts, policy makers and top decision-makers to discuss key issues and engage the audience on the most topical issues impacting the profession from local and global perspectives.
We are very privileged and honoured to have the support of Mrs Lim Hwee Hua, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister for Finance and Transport, who will be gracing the occasion as the Guest-of-Honour. We are also delighted to have international thought leaders from the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) provide expert views and updates on professional development as well as ethics and governance.
We aim to keep participants informed as well as entertained. So do also join us for the dinner segment where there will be a slew of performances to end the exciting day on a perfect note.
I look forward to meeting you at Singapore Accountancy Convention.
