Sustainability Reporting

In 2016, ISCA formed the ISCA Corporate Reporting Committee. The ISCA Corporate Reporting Committee comprised persons who are knowledgeable and experienced in the area of Sustainability Reporting.

The ISCA Corporate Reporting Committee’s term of reference is the adoption of quality Sustainability Reporting in Singapore. This term of reference is executed through the CRC with the support of two Working Groups:

(1)    The Sustainability Reporting Awareness Working Group which seeks to raise awareness and understanding of Sustainability Reporting in Singapore by engaging relevant stakeholders  so as to achieve adoption of Sustainability Reporting in Singapore.

(2)    The Sustainability Reporting Quality Working Group which seeks to raise the quality of Sustainability Reporting in Singapore by uplifting the level of knowledge in Sustainability Reporting in Singapore.

Our webpage seeks to showcase the highlights of the ISCA Corporate Reporting Committee’s achievements, during the course of its journey to facilitate the adoption of quality Sustainability Reporting in Singapore.

According to Mr Tan Wah Yeow, Chairman of the ISCA Corporate Reporting Committee, “Sustainability Reporting is a marathon and not a sprint. The process takes time, effort and resources – but the results are also rewarding.”

We invite you to start your rewarding Sustainability Reporting journey by having your first read of our publications on our webpage.

ISCA Sustainability Reporting Implementation Roadmap

With the global push for Sustainability Reporting and the benefits that Sustainability Reporting brings to both investors and companies, the Singapore Exchange (SGX) launched the Sustainability Reporting listing rules and the Sustainability Reporting Guide (the SGX Guide) in June 2016.

Entities listed on the SGX are required to prepare an annual Sustainability Report which describes the organisation’s sustainability practices with reference to environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues with effect for any financial year ending on or after 31 December 2017.

To help new or early-stage Sustainability Reporting adopters kick-start their Sustainability Reporting journey, ISCA has, through the ISCA Corporate Reporting Committee and Sustainability Reporting Quality Working Group, developed this publication.

This publication, though not a substantive checklist on Sustainability Reporting, seeks to provide practical guidance on the Sustainability Reporting implementation process, as well as key considerations for the entity’s first Sustainability Report.

ISCA Sustainability Roundtable Report – Chief Financial Officers for Sustainability Reporting

On 28 July 2017, ISCA, through the ISCA Corporate Reporting Committee and Sustainability Reporting Awareness Working Group, held the ISCA Sustainability Reporting Roundtable – Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) for Sustainability Reporting (the SR Roundtable).

During the SR Roundtable, participants discussed about the role played by CFOs in driving sustainability within their organisations. The SR Roundtable was also a platform whereby participants discussed the challenges faced in spearheading sustainability and how these challenges may be overcome.

The ISCA Sustainability Roundtable Report – Chief Financial Officers for Sustainability Reporting seeks to share the key takeaways of the above SR Roundtable in an organised manner, using a narrative style of presentation.
