MEET OUR 2025 SPEAKERS

Christopher Au

Christopher is the Director of WTW’s Asia-Pacific Climate Risk Centre, which focuses on climate risk quantification and management. Based in Singapore, the Centre works with support corporates, financial institutions, insurers, and governments to understand, quantify and build resilience against climate risks. It focuses on physical and transition climate risk assessment and quantification, and innovative forms of risk management and financing. Christopher is also responsible for strategy and solution development for WTW’s Climate Practice globally.  

Christopher joined WTW in 2018. He holds a PhD in Insurance Regulation and Policy, and an MSc in Environmental Policy from Imperial College London, and a BA in Geography from University College London. He also holds a Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management.

 

Ang Yuit

Ang Yuit is the Managing Director of The Adventus Consultants Pte Ltd, a digital solutions company, and currently serves as the President of the Association of Small & Medium Enterprises (ASME). 

Ang Yuit joined ASME as a council member in 2009. Throughout his time, he has helmed positions as the Vice President of Membership and Training, and Strategy and Development. He is also the Chairman of the Global Ready Talent Programme and SME Centre@ASME, the latter set up by Enterprise Singapore to provide comprehensive business advisory services and assistance to local SMEs. 

In 2023, Ang Yuit was elected President of the 28th Executive Council, marking a significant milestone in his longstanding involvement with ASME. Throughout his 15-year tenure, he has consistently demonstrated his commitment to empowering SMEs, leveraging his expertise and experience to drive impactful initiatives that support their growth and success. 

 

Dr El'fred Boo

El’fred is an Associate Professor at Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University. He holds a PhD in Accounting and is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (Singapore) and Chartered Accountant (Australia and New Zealand). He is also a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Directors. Prior to joining the academia, El’fred was an auditor with one of the Big Four international accounting firms in Singapore and Australia. 

He conducts research and teaches in the areas of assurance, corporate governance, enterprise risk management, sustainability and ethics at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has been a winner of the Teaching Excellence Award in the Accounting Division. El’fred has published in internationally-refereed journals, including the Abacus, Accounting & Business Research, Accounting & Finance, Accounting Horizons, Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory, Corporate Governance, Journal of Business Ethics and StrategicRISK. He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Accounting and Public Policy and an ad hoc reviewer for several refereed journals. His views and opinions are also sought after by the press, including The Business Times, The Edge, The Financial Times, The Straits Times and TODAY. 

El'fred's professional contributions include serving on the Judging Panel of the Best Annual Report Award, Best Managed Board Award Core Committee, ISCA Auditing and Assurance Standards Committee, ISCA Corporate Governance & Risk Management Committee, ISCA Ethics Committee, SID Accreditation Committee, SID Advocacy & Reports Committee, SID Audit Committee Chapter Publications Sub-Committee and SID Professional Development Committee.  

He is a member of the Audit Committee of SCELSE and CaringSG Limited. 

Aylwin How

Aylwin has professional services experience of 20 years, and is an audit partner with  Deloitte & Touche LLP. In addition to client service, he is also the Singapore National Professional Practice Director within the partnership, driving the technical and quality 

agenda. Aylwin’s industry focus is on the financial services industry and his technical accounting specialization is financial instruments accounting.

As part of his client service role, Aylwin has supported clients in their accounting assessment of complex transactions, 
as well as implementation of new IFRS accounting standards. Aylwin is also a member of the ISCA’s Financial Reporting Committee. 

 

Cherine Fok
Cherine is a Partner and Head of Our Impact Plan at KPMG in Singapore. She has more than 15 years of consulting experience in ESG measurement, reporting and assurance, ESG deals, structuring, and financing, and decarbonisation pathways.
Her expertise extends to the technology, science and business fields, in which she has advised organisations on developing and implementing sustainability strategies, managing compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitating climate change strategies.
Cherine actively participates in industry dialogues and regularly provides in-depth insights and analysis on issues critical to sustainable development, including decarbonisation, reporting, sustainable finance and diversity, equity and inclusion.
Nicolas Konialidis

Nicolas is the Director (Asia) of the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC). He is also the technical director of the IVSC’s Business Valuation Board. He has three decades of experience in capital markets, corporate finance, and valuations. Nicolas was previously the Managing Director at a consultancy specialized in advising, valuing, and transacting in intangible assets.  

Between 2010 and 2017, Nicolas was a corporate finance advisor and Investor Relations officer for corporate clients in several industries, including Renewable Energy. From 1994 to 2010, Nicolas spent sixteen years in equity markets in Paris, London, New York, and San Francisco in an array of functions from trading to Institutional sales for firms such as SE Banken (Enskilda), Credit Agricole and Sanford C. Bernstein, a subsidiary of AllianceBernstein. 

Nicolas is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Chartered Valuer and Appraiser (CVA). He is an Associate Member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA-BV). He has lived in Singapore since 2009

Anish McLaren

Ashish is a Managing Director and the Southeast Asia Leader for Valuation Advisory Services at Kroll in Singapore. He provides valuation services to his clients regarding their Mergers and Acquisitions transactions, Purchase Price Allocation exercises, asset impairment reviews, and other financial reporting valuations.  

With over 18 years of valuation experience in Singapore, Ashish has worked on deals across borders as well as across varies industries including telecom, precision manufacturing, consumer & retail, food & beverage, healthcare, power generation and infrastructure. He has advised several companies on their M&A, IP valuation and financial reporting valuation requirements. He has also advised various private equity players in their financial reporting as well as portfolio valuation requirements. 

Some of the key transactions he has advised on include advisory for a leading Southeast Asian car distributor for an acquisition in the region, advisory for a leading multi-services group in Singapore with regards acquisitions and internal organization restructuring, advisory to a leading TMT group with regards their global acquisitions. 

Ashish is a member of the Institute of Valuers & Appraisers, Singapore (IVAS) Council and the Chairperson of IVAS’ Standards and Technical Working Group. 

Ashish is a registered Chartered Valuer & Appraiser (CVA) with IVAS, holds a graduate honors degree in Physics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, India and received his Post Graduate Diploma in Management (MBA) from Amity Business School, NOIDA, India. 

Bing Yi Lee

Bing Yi is a Partner in PwC Singapore’s Sustainability & Climate Change practice where he focuses on serving the financial services industry. As PwC Singapore’s Financial Services ESG Lead, he has spearheaded numerous sustainability advisory projects, specialising in sustainable financing, sustainability reporting, climate risk management, and climate transition strategies.

Aside from his specialism in sustainability, Bing Yi is also a Banking & Capital Markets specialist and a practising public accountant, experienced in providing audit, assurance and advisory services to various banks and financial institutions. He also led the sustainability assurance work for several large listed financial institutions in Singapore.  

Eng Kian Lee

In addition to being a member of the ISCA Council, Eng Kian serves as the Chairman of the ISCA Public Accountants Practice Committee (PAPC), Co-Chairman of the Voluntary Compliance Programme Panel, and a member of the Membership Committee and Artificial Intelligence for Accountancy Industry Taskforce. He was also a member of the Audit and Assurance Standards Committee (AASC), Financial Reporting Committee (FRC), and Financial Statement Review Committee (later known as the Financial Reporting Surveillance Program). 

Eng Kian has 30 years of experience in audit, practice management, and talent development. As the Managing Partner of PKF-CAP LLP, he has spearheaded firm-wide enhancements in audit quality, client service, and strategic growth, while also championing initiatives in risk advisory, sustainability assurance, technology adoption. His contributions extend to international platforms, where he actively collaborates with PKF Global leadership on talent and global audit initiatives. He sits as a Board member on PKF Global and is the Vice Chair of the PKF Asia Pacific Board. 

 

Lai San Kong

Lai San is a Partner at Deloitte with over 18 years of public accounting experience, focusing on industries such as consumer business, real estate, and manufacturing. Lai San has led special projects, including Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), showcasing notable proficiency in this area. 

Lai San is also a subject matter expert in Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR), PCAOB audit and International Financial Reporting Standards 15 - Revenue with contracts with customers. Her expertise also extends to providing advisory services, including technical advice over complex accounting issues, IPO readiness, and ICFR implementation. 

In recent years, Lai San is actively involved in ESG projects with a focus on sustainability reporting and assurance services under ISAE 3000.  Lai San is a member of the ISCA Financial Statements Review Advisory Panel. 

 

Yen Mei Low

Yen Mei is an assurance partner based in Singapore, specialized in Real Estate, Hospitality and Construction (RHC) Sector. With almost three decades of audit experience within the Real Estate, Hospitality & Construction Sector, Yen Mei is a highly experienced and dedicated audit professional. She currently serves as the head of RHC Sector. Her extensive background is marked by a wealth of experience in managing a multitude of real estate clients and steering numerous Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) and Business Trust (BT) transactions to success.

She has successfully completed many IPO listings in Singapore and has served clients in a wide range of sectors including Oil & Gas and Professional Service Providers. Yen Mei’s linguistic capabilities with a strong command of both English and Chinese, enhanced her ability to bridge markets and facilitate seamless operations with China-based real estate clients

 

Eric Lim

Eric is Managing Director and the Chief Sustainability Officer at United Overseas Bank Limited 
(UOB). His role is to drive UOB’s sustainability strategy and objectives of helping businesses and 
individuals transition to a sustainable future and fostering social and environmental well-being among 
colleagues and communities.

Eric was also the Head of Group Finance from 2013 to 2022, where he was responsible for the Bank’s 
core finance functions spanning financial strategy, capital management, regulatory and financial 
reporting, tax management, business finance and performance management.
Eric holds positions in key UOB management committees, including Chairperson of the Group 
Sustainability Committee. He is also a member of the Management Committee and holds directorships 
in UOB affiliated companies.

Prior to joining UOB, Mr Eric was Managing Director and Head of Wholesale Banking Finance, Singapore 
and Southeast Asia for Standard Chartered Bank, responsible for driving the strategic partnership 
between the wholesale business and finance teams. During this time, Mr Eric led the finance functions 
covering commercial banking, financial markets and investment banking.

Eric began his career with GE Capital where he took on various executive positions in the areas of 
financial planning and analysis, mergers and acquisitions, audit and controllership. He lived and worked 
in more than 20 countries, with particular focus in the USA and Japan during that time.
Eric holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from the Nanyang Technological University and an Executive 
Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University
