General

The IM&A certificate is structured in four modules based on our IMAA Framework and Body of Knowledge:
1. Essential of M&A 

2. Due Diligence

3. Valuation 

4. Post-Merger Integration (PMI)

At the end of each modules, there will be an assessment and examination.

Live Virtual Classes (via ZOOM)

For Live Virtual Classes (via zoom) class, you can complete it during scheduled training dates and you will still have the access to the online learning platform for 12 months duration. 

 

Online Self Directed Learning (Via ZOOM)

For Online Self-Directed Learning, you are still be given the access to our online learning platform for 12 months duration.

However, for participant registered under IBF training grant, you must complete the course by the completion dateline to be eligible for the training grant. (Eg. For those registered under the IBF training grant from 2 January 2022, the completion deadline to complete the course and pass the exam is latest by 30th September 2022.)

The course is delivered in the highly interactive online virtual class or the self-paced online course, the practitioner will take their skills to the next level by practicing:

  • Expanding your M&A perspective
    Hone new target identification strategies and advanced synergy analyses to close the best deals and navigate common post-merger integration pitfalls.
  • Mapping out the negotiation landscape
    Identifying the true stakeholders and likely competitors for the target ahead of time and get ready with the right strategies and tactics for closing the transaction without trouble.
  • Improving your Foresight
    By “looking ahead and reasoning back,” learn the practice implementing exceptional value analysis and comprehensive due diligence so the practitioner can lead their team into unlocking the most lucrative merger and acquisition opportunities.

 

Upon completion of the programme, participant will be awarded the IMAA International Merger & Acquisition Certificate  and the designation of International Merger & Acquisition Expert (IM&A) issued by the Institute of Mergers, Acquisition and Alliance (IMAA).

For Singaporean and Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR) participants are eligible for IBF (Institute of Banking and Finance) Singapore funding, subject to eligibility criteria. 
  • 90% for Singaporean aged group 40 years old and above, and
  • 80% for Singaporean aged group 39 years old and below and SPR

      Application

      Entry Requirements
      All ISCA Affliates, Associate and CA (Singapore) members are eligible for the IM&A certification programme.

      It is recommended that participants should have previous knowledge or professional experience in financial and business-related topics. 

      Programme Delivery and Assessment

      For online self-directed learning, individuals will receive guidance and support from online instructors via discussion forums and emails.

      For live virtual class (via ZOOM), individuals will receive guidance and support from face-to-face sessions (i.e. virtual online classes).

      IMAA runs its online courses on their proprietary online learning platform and their integrated learning management system. All courses are accessible via: http://www.imaa-institute.org 

      Upon confirmation of registration, participant will receive the log in details.

      Depending on the format (online self directed learning vs. virtual live class), formal assessment may include a variety of methods, ie. participation in discussions, group assignments, case, studies, multiple choice questions, etc.
      For Live virtual class (via ZOOM), exams usually take place within a period of two weeks after the training, using an online examination portal. 

      For Online Self-Directed Learning, you can start the assessment after you have completed each modules. For IBF funded participants, you are required to complete additional exam required by IBF upon completion of all required modules.

      The Institute for Mergers, Acquisitions and Alliances (IMAA) delivers high quality trainings and has been recognized and certified by the following organizations as an institution and/or programs.

      • ISO Certifications: IMAA is certified by TUEV Austria for ISO Norms 9001 Quality Management Systems, 21001 Educational Organizations, and 29990 Learning services for non-formal education and training.
      • Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA): IMAA is recognized by ACCA as a continued professional education provider.
      • Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM): IMAA is recognized by SHRM as a continued professional education provider.
      • National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA): IMAA is registered as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors for onsite programs. 
      • Government Approval Singapore: IMAA has been accredited by the Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF) of Singapore.
      • OECERT: IMAA is recognized as a certified education provider for adult education in Austria.
