Mr Huang Weiming (Jarret)

UPON FINDING that Mr Huang Weiming (Jarret), CA (Singapore) had contravened Rule 64.1 read with Rule 65.2 of the Institute (Membership and Fees) Rules, in that he had been found guilty by the State Courts of the Republic of Singapore of two offences under Section 420 of the Penal Code (Chapter 224, 2008 Revised Edition) and one other offence under Section 420 read with Section 512(2) of the Penal Code (Chapter 224, 2008 Revised Edition) and sentenced to 19 weeks imprisonment on 12 October 2022,

The Disciplinary Committee ordered: 

That pursuant to 137.1.1 of the Institute (Membership and Fees) Rules, his name be removed from the register and that he shall cease to be a Member of the Institute with immediate effect.  



Mr Tan Joon Wei, Winn

UPON FINDING that Mr Tan Joon Wei, Winn, CA (Singapore) had contravened Rules 64.1, 64.4 and 65.1 of the Institute (Membership and Fees) Rules read with Sections 111.1, 111.2 and 115.1 of the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics under the Third Schedule of the Institute (Membership and Fees) Rules,

The Disciplinary Committee ordered: 

1. That pursuant to Rule 137.1.2 of the Institute (Membership and Fees) Rules, he be suspended from membership for a period of eighteen (18) months with immediate effect.

2. That pursuant to Rule 167 of the Institute (Membership and Fees) Rules, he shall be liable to pay a sum of $57,842.77 (inclusive of GST), being the costs and expenses incurred by the Institute in connection with the investigation and disciplinary proceedings undertaken against him.



Mr Lu Hua (Henry)

UPON FINDING that Mr Lu Hua (Henry), CA (Singapore) and Public Accountant had contravened Rules 64.1, 64.4 and 127 of the Institute (Membership and Fees) Rules read with Sections 150.1 of the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics under the Third Schedule of the Institute (Membership and Fees) Rules in that he had behaved unprofessionally by:

i. Failing to provide services that had been agreed upon and remained uncontactable when attempts were made by the Complainant to resolve the issue.

ii. Failing to furnish a sufficient and satisfactory reply in writing and/or by failing to attend and provide such explanation and/or produce material as required by both the Investigation Committee and Disciplinary Committee.

The Disciplinary Committee ordered: 

1. That pursuant to Rule 137.1.3 of the Institute (Membership and Fees) Rules, he be fined the sum of SGD$5,000.
 
2. That pursuant to Rule 137.1.4 of the Institute (Membership and Fees) Rules, he be censured.
